Just wanted to mention that the sign-ups are open on AO3, in the case anyone's interested in taking part! There are no qualifying fandoms this year, so Hikaru no go (and anything else too, I guess) is in the game.

Sign-ups close on May 17, fics are due on June 21.

After nine months, Hikaru no Joe is COMPLETE!!!! All remaining chapters and epilogue have been posted. Enjoy!

Total word count: 31,552 (!!!)

Chapter 7: Ven-iced Coffee

To his great surprise, Touya Akira found himself sitting alone on a gondola in Venice.

Chapter 8: Coffee To Go

"Let's meet here again tomorrow, same time," Touya said. Even though it wasn't a question, he waited quietly for Hikaru's reply.

"Touya, I'm sorry," Hikaru thought miserably. "I know you're looking for Sai too. But I don't know how to find him."

Chapter 9: The Divine Brew

"Shindou, why are you here?" Akira asked. He almost stepped toward him, but hesitated.

Shindou clenched his fists and looked at him defiantly.

Chapter 10: Espresso Weekly (Special Epilogue)
28 September 2014 @ 09:57 am
Akira/Hikaru fanvid to Oasis' Wonderwall.

(If it looks at all familiar, it's because it's a kinda-sorta remake of a 2005 vid. ;) )

Additional notes are here. Thank you for watching!

Chapter 6: Closing Time

Long strands of dark hair had escaped from Touya’s ponytail and fell around his face haphazardly, but he didn’t seem to notice. This time, he was looking right at Hikaru. Not Sai.

Chapter 5: A Victory By Any Beans Necessary

“I will now introduce the mystery ingredient for Blind Joe.” Touya Meijin placed his hand on the lid of a covered platter.

Chapter 4: The Young Roasters Tournament

“The Young Roasters Tournament?” Nase said curiously. “We won this one a few years ago, didn’t we?”

“And then we lost it to our rival, Café Meijin,” Morishita-sensei said bitterly. “The tournament is in two months. We have to take back the title!”

This is an excerpt from the Pierrot studio 25th anniversary live DVD (now out of print) devoted to “Hikaru no Go” anime series. After a short trailer, Tomoko Kawakami (voice of Hikaru), Sanae Kobayashi (Akira) & Yumi Kakazu (Akari) talk about the series' plot & favoruite characters, and then Kawakami-san performs "Sora" (Hikaru's character song) live (the song starts at 10:18).

I'm going ahead and opening up the sign-ups for this a day early since there have been no nominations for days.

Running until the 31st of May, signups are now open. You can check the available pairings here. You can request and offer 3-5 pairings, or select “any” for your options. You have the option of linking to a page of your tumblr/LJ/DW that details your desires, or of just jotting those down with your request.

You can send me asks here on tumblr with questions, or email me at mmmdraco @ gmail . com, or just ask them here.

Caminante and I combined our love for Waya/Isumi with our knowledge and passion for living in South Korea. It's 11,000 words! It's bilingual! There are recipe links! I even made illustrations!

We were inspired by the blind_go prompts but Caminante wasn't signed up and we couldn't get it done in time so here it is all by itself.

Big thanks from us to whomever came up with the Korea theme. We had way too much fun working with it and hope you guys enjoy it too.

Waya and Isumi take a trip to Seoul.

"Waya hasn't really thought much about meeting Isumi's Korean friends. Here at home everybody knows them equally well, because they’ve been inseparable for the past decade, but what if these new people think he’s goofy or not good enough for Isumi? Actually, now that he thinks about it, he’s never been out of Japan before, and the only Korean he knows is that “annyeonghaseyo” means hello and “paduk” means go… What if he does something embarrassing?"

I'd also like to recommend Caminante's first solo fic because it's brilliant and hilarious.

Hi guys!

I'm sure we've all noticed that Hikago generally qualifies for a lot of other small fandom and/or pairing exchanges, but it doesn't always guarantee Hikago fic. So, I'm changing that with the HIKAGO RARE PAIR EXCHANGE!

Starting May 18th, sign-ups will be open for this exchange. Right now, though, we need nominations for which pairings you want to see! Since only AkiHika hits the kind of numbers that would disqualify it in a larger challenge, the bar is set pretty low for limits, knocking only 5 pairings out of the running.

The pairings which will not be allowed are:
* Shindou Hikaru/Touya Akira
* Fujiwara no Sai/Shindou Hikaru
* Isumi Shinichirou/Waya Yoshitaka
* Ko Yeong-ha/Yashiro Kiyoharu
* Ashiwara Hiroyuki/Saeki Kouji

Everything else is fair game, so, please, come nominate HERE!

If you have questions, you can comment here or ask me on tumblr.
